If you shop for GPS devices for the road, you might look at 2 or 3 brands and quickly realize that you are confused about which one to invest in. Navman F15

The Navman F15 looks to be the only Navman product that is for sale in the US and, understandably, US maps including Puerto Rico are pre-loaded. Despite the fact that the Navman F15 isn’t a widescreen product, the 3.5” touch screen combined with its straightforward design render this product a very user friendly product overall. Installing the device is simpler than quite a few other GPS models, which normally require some minor electrical work just for the device to behave like you want it to. Those two features serve to define the F15 as a great device for drivers to get started with GPS navigation while driving.

Unfortunately, the navigation capabilities in general may seriously annoy many people since it’s not as accurate as many other US-based GPS devices available. There may be a few instances when you begin to go around in circles, but we’re also aware of some reports of this product doing a great job, so it could depend on the destination you have chosen. Your Navman’s points of interest probably include a few restaurants and motels, but the saturation of POI’s that come with the map are well short of the flood of information that more established GPS companies provide. The abbreviated battery life might be disappointing too, but can be no surprise since this particular GPS unit doesn’t cost that much. Forgetting about the inadequacies, the Navman GPS remains pretty good as a result of its easy user interface and applications and its ease in figuring the most direct route and discovering addresses.

Navman S35

The S35 comes with the same 3.5 inch screen as is used on the F15, and the frame looks rather fashionable and it is still appropriately portable. Navman’s mid-range model is made just for use in Austrailia, offering more than 500,000 points of interest within the country and has the text-to-speech function which accurately enunciates location names using an Australian accent. This model also comes with a mileage expense reporter that is excellent for consumers who prefer to manage gasoline costs better. The most current maps of 2008 are also included.

Navman S45

The Navman S45 comes with the same helpful features and styling as the S35, but the screen is bigger; measuring 4.3 inches. In spite of the widescreen option, the model still looks fairly portable. A comparable model is the Garmin Nuvi 1200 GPS Navigation System.

Navman GPS products are restricted in variety, although they all endeavor to be conveniently portable and dependable. They accomplished their objective in keeping an attractive and portable shape, but they could make some advancements on the accuracy side.
